A still further object of my invention is to provide a portable sun bath, together with easily manipulated means for adapting it to the position of the sun to admit the sunrays thereto, together with adjustable means for selectively shading portions thereof.

It is now well recognized in the medical profession that the exposure of the nude human body to the sun is one of the greatest preventative measures against disease as well as a cure for certain serious ailments. It has however been heretofore diflicult for persons,

especially in congested areas, to be able to obtain that privacy necessary to satisfy conventions, in exposing the nude body to the sun. There has accordingly been developed numerous electrically operated devices for the artificial production of ultra-violet rays which-may be operated in the privacy of the home. Such devices, while of great benefit in the prevention and treatment of disease are not nearlyso beneficial as the natural suns rays. It is accordingly the prime object of my invention to provide apparatus whereby those desiring sun ray treatments mayavailthemselves of these treatments in privacy in anylocation. I

Referring to the drawings for a better understanding of my invention, I show upstanding frame members 10 and 11 arranged to support a bed frame 12 which is provided with the conventional spring 13. The bed frame 12 is braced with respect to-the frame members 10 and 11 by means of corner braces 14. Extending upwardly from the bed frame 12 midway the ends, are stifiening frame members 16 and 17. Joined to the end members 11 near the juncture with the bed frame 12 is anupwardly and outwardly flaring end frame 18 which has its upper end joined to an upper frame member 19, which latter is also joined to the upper ends of the upstanding frame members 10, 11 and 16. As may be seen from Fig. 2, the upper frame 19 is rectangular and extends entirely around the bed 12. a

Joined to the upstanding frame members 10 and 17 are relatively small upper and lower dressing room frames 21 and 23. l The outer sides of these frames are supported by means of one or more upstanding frame members 22 at thecorners thereof which extend down to the ground as seen in Fig. 4. In the lower part of the dressing room frame is a suitable floor. 24 supported on the frame 23. Hingedly secured on opposite sides of the bed are ventilating windows 26 and 27, these windows being hinged at their upper ends to in Fig. 4. By the means shown, a person may enter the dressing room and disrobe, lie down on the bed 12, concealed from view by the sides. In order that the suns rays may be selectively shaded from certain portions of the body and also to cut off the view of a person in the bath from above, I provide a .cover structure comprising louver members 33 each of which is pivoted midway its ends to the frame 19 at 34. The lower ends of the louver members 33 are all connected by means of links 36 to a longitudinally extending bar 37. The bar 37 has depending from one end thereof a handle 38 which may be reached by a person lying on the bed 12' to adjust the louver members to permit the sun to enter the sun bath. The bar 37 is provided with elongated slots 39 through which the links 36 are connected to the bar by means of thumb screws 41.

If it be desired to subject only a portion of the body to the suns rays, any one of the louver means 33 may be independently swung to a desired posit on by movement of the link 36 in the slot 37 and thus shade the portion ,of body required. Ordinarily the louver members will stay in any set position. In case they should tend to move on account of wind or other causes, they may be secured in position by means of a set screw 40 which passes through a strap secured to the frame member 16.

The outwardly flaring frame 18, secured at one end of the bed, is provided for the purpose of permitting the sun to shine into the bath until it has assumed a relatively low po sition in the heavens As is well known, the arc of the suns travel across the heavens varies considerably with the seasons as well as with the hour of the day and a person using apparatus such as I have described finds frequent necessity of changing its position to permit free access of the sun at all times. In order to accomplish this, I have provided a circular track 42 which may conveniently be made of angle iron as shown. The lower ends of the frame members are provided with suitable casters 43 which rest in the track 42 so that the bed is easily turned around to any required position to admit the suns rays.

While I have shown my invention in but two forms, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that it is not so limited but is susceptible to Various other changes and modifications, without departing from the spirit thereof and I desire therefore thatonly such m ti n e pla thereunen a are imposed by the prior art, or as are specifically set forth in the appended claims.
